DTI-Laguna Extends Information Drive on BIR Compliance Essentials with Consumer Education

 Calauan, Laguna — The Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office

(DTI-Laguna), through Negosyo Center Calauan, in collaboration with the Bureau of

Internal Revenue (BIR) and with the support of the Local Government Unit of Calauan, conducted a seminar titled “BIR Compliance Essentials: Responsible Tax Practices with

Consumer Education” at the Conference Hall, Barangay Kanluran, Calauan, Laguna, on

September 17, 2024.



In today’s evolving tax landscape, it is vital for both businesses and consumers to remain informed about compliance requirements. This seminar became a venue to provide a comprehensive understanding of BIR regulations while promoting responsible tax practices and highlighting the importance of consumer education in driving business success.


Mr. Lawrence Anthony Anenias, Revenue Officer III, welcomed the participants andi ntroduced the expert speakers for the session. Mr. Arnold Perez and Mr. Dannison Paul Eseo, both Revenue Officers II, presented the Ease of Paying Taxes Act which is a key initiative designed to simplify the tax payment process for individuals and businesses.

This legislation focuses on reducing administrative burdens, promoting timely payments, and enhancing overall compliance.

Additionally, Ms. Alma Arenal, Negosyo Center Business Counsellor assigned in the City Government of Calamba, addressed the rights and responsibilities of consumers, emphasizing the role of informed consumers in a healthy economy.



This seminar not only aids businesses in understanding their tax obligations but also empowers consumers with the knowledge necessary to navigate the complexities of tax compliance. Moreover, the seminar served as a platform for fostering collaboration between the government and the community, ensuring that both businesses and consumers can thrive in a compliant and responsible economic environment.
