Governor Sol Aragones Orders Immediate Completion of CCTV and Monitoring System to Boost Laguna’s Disaster Preparedness

Santa Cruz, Laguna — Governor Sol Aragones has ordered the immediate completion of the CCTV and monitoring system at the Laguna Provincial Capitol Command Center to strengthen the province’s disaster preparedness and response capabilities.

During an inspection with PDRRMO Head Aldwin Cejo, Governor Aragones noted that only five CCTV cameras are currently operational, stressing the urgency of completing the system to ensure swift and efficient emergency response.

“This isn’t about finding faults; it’s about taking responsibility,” she said, emphasizing that the initiative aims to protect lives and improve coordination during disasters.

Cejo shared that the Command Center currently has only eight monitors and requires more equipment to expand its coverage. He expressed support for the governor’s directive, calling it a proactive move to enhance public safety.

The provincial government has already allocated funds for 30 additional CCTV units to be installed across Laguna’s cities and municipalities. This will allow real-time monitoring of local situations, especially during calamities or emergencies.

“What I want is for our Command Center to see the situation in every town,” Governor Aragones said. “With complete monitoring equipment, we can respond faster and save more lives.”

Governor Aragones also became emotional during the inspection, highlighting her deep concern for residents affected by disasters. “What we’re talking about here are people’s lives. We cannot wait — we must act now,” she said.

Under Governor Aragones’ leadership, the provincial government continues to implement programs aimed at ensuring the safety and readiness of every Lagunense.
