Among the key activities were the repacking of relief goods, checking of rescue vehicles, and ensuring the readiness of medical teams in case of emergencies.
Governor Aragones personally oversaw the operations and emphasized the importance of early preparation. “It’s always better to be one step ahead. Preparedness means saving lives,” she said. “That’s why we make sure our relief goods are ready, our vehicles are on standby, and our medical teams are fully equipped. My phone is open 24/7 for anyone who needs help.”
The relief items being prepared include rice, canned goods, instant noodles, and other basic needs that can be quickly distributed to families affected by disasters. Volunteers and the Akay ni Gob Action Center joined the repacking effort.
“As part of the QRT, we gathered early to show our readiness,” said Doland Castro from Akay ni Gob, who helped lead the operation. “This activity shows that every member of the team is ready to respond quickly.”
Governor Aragones also highlighted that preparedness goes beyond food supplies. “Our rescue vehicles and ambulances are ready,” she added. “We want to assure the people of Laguna that when help is needed, rescue, relief, and medical services will come together right away.”
Provincial Public Information Officer Danny Lucas stressed the importance of fast and accurate communication during disasters. “Information is just as important as food,” he said. “Timely updates save lives. That’s why we make sure people know where to ask for help and how to stay safe.”
Lucas also noted that Governor Aragones always reminds her team that disaster response must be proactive and people-centered. “She says it's not just about systems but about people. Every Lagunense should feel that the government is ready to help.”
As the province continues to prepare for possible disasters, Governor Aragones urged the public to stay alert and pray for safety. “Preparedness is always the wiser move. Let’s also unite in prayer—our strongest weapon against any storm,” she said.
The Laguna Quick Response Team, together with other provincial agencies, assures the public that they are always on alert and ready to act at the first sign of emergency.
