Santa Cruz, Laguna — In a bid to promote transparency and responsive public service, Governor Sol Aragones officially launched the “Isumbong Mo Kay Gob” (Report to the Governor) program through a press conference held in the provincial capital .The initiative aims to create a more open and compassionate healthcare system by assigning 90 newly trained Help Desk Officers to hospitals across Laguna.
Set to be deployed on Monday, September 8, 2025, these officers will serve as direct points of contact for patients and healthcare workers—ready to assist, listen, and respond to concerns with professionalism and empathy.
Gov. Aragones emphasized that the selection of Help Desk Officers was based not only on qualifications but also on the applicants’ genuine commitment to public service. “The first requirement is having the heart to serve,” she said.
The program received strong backing from key health officials, including Dr. Odilon Inoncillo, Officer-in-Charge of the Provincial Health Office, and Dr. Eric Tayag, Laguna Health Consultant and head of the province’s district hospital directors. Dr. Tayag reminded the new officers of the Governor’s Executive Order No. 1, which prohibits rude behavior in the workplace and promotes a culture of kindness. “The ultimate goal is for everyone to be smiling,” he added. Dr.
To support the officers in their roles, the provincial government is working to expedite the release of hazard pay, while also providing each officer with a dedicated mobile phone and load allowance. Many of the newly appointed officers are young professionals, and a start-up allowance has been secured for their initial deployment.
With “Isumbong Mo Kay Gob,” the Laguna Provincial Government reinforces its commitment to accessible, compassionate, and accountable public healthcare, in line with Gov. Aragones' vision of governance centered on genuine public service and citizen engagement.( Lynn Domingo)
